In moments like this, we all need to remember that it is a collective effort to stay healthy.
⠀
Let’s wash hands;
Let’s cover up coughs; and let’s stay home if we are not feeling well…let’s stop buying out the stores and depleting reserves of toilet paper and sanitizers.
⠀
There ARE families that cannot afford to stock up for months, and you might be preventing them from being able to put food on their tables.
⠀
Situations like this truly show who we are. I believe that true kindness reveals itself in moments of fear or inconvenience. Stay calm and stay kind- that means thinking of our community’s wellbeing- not just of those closest to us.
⠀
One of the most important things is to stay in your spiritual center.
⠀
Here are a few tips to regulate your emotions:
- Breathe. Or meditate (maybe it’s time to learn?)Listen or Play music
- Talk to your friends and family
- Try not to dwell on all the information that has been posted. Trust verified sources.(such as CDC.gov
- Educate yourself on COVID-19. It’s not as scary for most individuals, but each one of us is responsible to do everything possible to prevent the spreading of it, especially to the vulnerable individuals.
- Read a book/watch a movie
- Work out and eat healthy
- Journal
- Consider online therapy if you need.
- Be present
It’s going to be okay. We will get through it.️
Above all, use this situation as an opportunity for growth.
⠀
We learn more about ourselves in the stressful and scary moments.
Be kind to yourself and to people around you.
